Swinley Forest - Caesars Camp, Bracknell

A pleasant 4 miles stroll around Swinley Forest visiting Caesars Camp, a hill fort established in 500 - 300 BC and an important marketplace for the area.

The walk is mainly along forestry tracks and those with mountain bikes can visit the nearby lookout and try out the specially made MTB trails there.

Easy parking at the Lookout.

Tidmarsh, Berkshire

A short but interesting 2.7 mile walk around Sulham Wood. A good steep climb is followed by fields on the plateau before walking through some quite strange woodland (not sure I'd want to wild camp here..) before heading back on the eastern flanks of the hill. Geocaching route, but worth taking the dogs round or as a post Sunday lunch amble.

Hampstead Norreys, Berkshire

A good 7 mile walk with some lovely views of the area. There's free parking at the sports centre just on the west side of the village and the footpath start next to it. Some hilly sections. There's also an historic Stone Age Motte just below the playing fields.

There's a pub in the village and a local village shop.
